Cabinet NG and Novacc Technology Simplifies Web-Based Document Management

Huntsville, AL. - October 18, 2010 - Cabinet NG (CNG), provider of document management and document management workflow software, today announced version 6.5 of CNG-WEB and CNG-SAFE. The new solutions will be shown for the first time at the Collaborate Conference, October 21-22 in Huntsville, AL.
With CNG-WEB, users have multiple methods for locating documents. Different situations lend themselves to different ways of locating information. In many cases a click-through structural search of Repository, Cabinet, and Folder is the most efficient, and other times, CNG-WEB's new Quick Search and Full text search features are the best choice

"The new version of CNG-WEB makes working with documents via a browser more simple and efficient than ever before," said Andrew Bailey, president, CNG. "Today's businesses enjoy the flexibility of being able to work with all their documents stored in the central repository directly through a browser and/or client interface."

CNG-WEB supports scanning documents via the browser and creating new folders. Scanning via the browser offers the significant advantage of letting users scan directly to CNG-SAFE without scanning to their local PC and then uploading the document with the browser. User interface improvements include a fresh, more intuitive layout that supports customization capabilities for the end user to set their own preferences. Login auto access brings the user to the cabinet and folder used in the last session. User customization and auto access allows users to make the system fit their needs and pick up exactly where they left off.

CNG-SAFE also received new functionality. Users can now bookmark important cabinets, folders and documents so they can be instantly accessed directly from the home screen. Bookmarking work items ensures active information is only a single click away. Manual batch scanning is directly incorporated into CNG-SAFE as a toolbox item and has added functionality to make batch operation easier and more intuitive. Power users will appreciate how the full function keyboard navigation capability of batch delivers maximum efficiency. New searchable keyword flexibility is expanded to include assigning additional keywords when a document is added to CNG-SAFE.

CNG-SAFE's workflow capabilities are designed to accommodate virtually all processing procedures and scenarios. Workflow supports a wider variety of process situations by being able to send a rejected item back one step in the flow, back to the originator as part of the approval, or jumping to a new rule segment.
